Complete An Application
Our online application is all it takes to get the process started.

Meet with a Recruiter
A recruiter will contact you and begin a series of meetings and interviews. During this time you will learn more about what an American Family Insurance agent career involves.

Complete a Background Check
The screening process consists of credit, background and motor vehicle report checks, as well as an assessment of your skills.

Talk with a Sales Manager
You may be asked to interview with an agency sales manager to help determine if this opportunity is the right fit for you and for American Family Insurance.

Learn About Our Products
You will receive some basic training materials and have an opportunity to learn about American Family's products. You may also have an opportunity to practice generating sales leads.

Take a LicensingExam
You begin preparing for your state insurance licensing exam. This requires a commitment of time as well as a small expense for exam fees.

Once you have successfully completed these steps, you are appointed as an American Family Insurance agent.
