American Family Insurance has a long, proud history of protecting dreams, and helping the communities we serve. It started with our company founder Herman Wittwer, who was an active cultural booster in the company’s hometown of Madison, Wis.
Today our corporate philanthropy program focuses on basic human needs, youth and education, health and arts and culture. We sponsor charitable fund-raising events, coordinate employee/agent volunteer participation and make financial contributions to hundreds of non-profit organizations across our 19-state operating territory. We also provide significant support to programs like the United Way, American Family Children’s Hospital and the Steve Stricker American Family Foundation.
In addition to these philanthropic efforts, we’ve also made a firm commitment to environmental stewardship, working to make sure we can responsibly build, grow and develop our business today, so it does not negatively affect tomorrow.
At American Family, we don’t want to be simply located in the communities where we do business – but a valued member of those communities. Through these types of activities, we’re living our values as an organization and doing our part to help dreams come true now and into the future.
