Over 1,100 pints of blood donated by American Family employees since 2012.
The 2013 Walk to Defeat ALS.

Building healthy communities is in everyone's best interest, including ours! American Family supports agencies that provide assistance, education, research and hope for people suffering from health challenges, such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and AIDS.

Over the years, American Family has helped raise more than $200,000 for the Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota chapter of the ALS Association (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Our agents and employees participate in the Walk to Defeat ALS and the company has sponsored the chapter’s annual fishing tournament since it began in 1995. The mission of the organization is to empower people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and their families to live fuller lives and to treat and cure ALS through global research and advocacy.

“With the help of the ALS MN chapter, we were provided resources like communication devices, walkers and counseling to improve the quality of life for my mother, who died from ALS in 2006. Though her disease progressed rapidly, my mom was able to live life to the fullest, and just weeks before she died, she echoed Lou Gehrig’s famous words, telling us, ‘I feel like the luckiest person alive.' I’m proud that American Family supports organizations like the ALS Association.”
