Description
The American Family Insurance property/casualty actuarial summer internship program is designed to involve the student in a variety of actuarial activities, including assistance in modeling projects and development of rate indications. These activities will provide the student with valuable experience in the type of work they could be involved with in their future career.
Expectations
American Family is able to provide flexibility in scheduling. However, interns are expected to commit to a regular work schedule that allows sufficient time on the job in order for the program to be successful.

Description
The American Family Insurance life/health summer actuarial internship program is designed to involve the student in some of the major areas of actuarial science, including pricing, valuation and model building. Depending on our needs, you could be involved in working on life and/or health projects. This program will provide an opportunity to be involved with the type of work life and health actuaries do throughout their career.
Expectations
American Family Insurance is able to provide flexibility in scheduling. However, interns are expected to commit to a regular work schedule that allows sufficient time on the job in order for the program to be successful.
Requirements
- Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math or a related field such as Risk Management or Statistics.
- The candidate must be taking or have taken courses in Interest Theory and/or Actuarial Mathematics.
- The candidate should be at least in their second year of school at a University.
- The candidate should have experience with Microsoft Office and programming languages such as Visual Basic.
