Our Solution: How It Works

Our solution is simple. Follow these step-by-step instructions to understand the program and how it improves your teen’s risky driving by 70 percent within the first few weeks of enrollment.

Step one: The in-car device by the rear view mirror is installed in about 30 minutes and is free of charge.

Step two: A device near your teen's rear-view mirror records sights and sounds triggered by erratic movement.

Step three: When an incident occurs, the device saves eight seconds of footage prior to the mishap and the four seconds after. Incidents that trigger recording include: erratic vehicle movement like extreme braking, cornering and accelerating too fast, as well as crashes.

Step four: The Information is transmitted wirelessly to the Teen Safe Driver Center, where it’s reviewed and objectively evaluated by your personal driving coach, Erin.

Step five: You receive a weekly driver report card that measures your teen's performance against safe driving objectives and peer averages. This feedback goes to you and you only. Once received, you can log in to watch the report, view video of any recorded events and get tips for safer driving.

Step six: These conversations are proven to help improve your teen's driving habits within weeks. We encourage you to have frequent discussions with your teen on their driving performance. The report and feedback from the Teen Safe Driver Center will serve as great discussion starters.
