American Family Insurance announces Go Get Your Dream Challenge winners

Madison, Wis.(March 26, 2012) — Cathleen and Shruthi Reed, Anne Goetz and Tim Boyd were selected as American Family Insurance's Go Get Your Dream Challenge winners. The contest invited anyone with a dream to share it online, add photos and links to videos, and drum up voter support via social media to be chosen as one of America's top dreamers. The three winners will receive cash awards to help them realize their dreams.

Cathleen Reed and her daughter, Shruthi, of Herculaneum, Mo. were selected as the grand prize winners and will receive the $10,000 dream fund and a personalized development session with motivational mentor and Forbes magazine Feb. 2012 cover subject, Kathy Ireland. Cathleen, who along with her husband has adopted three special needs children, wanted to make life easier for Shruthi, one of their children adopted from India. They dreamed of an accessible bathroom, a fenced-in yard for when a service dog is assigned and a princess makeover for Shruthi.

"Cathleen and the other winners can attest that dreams are powerful," said Kathy Ireland. "It is my honor and privilege to serve as a dream mentor for Cathleen as the grand prize winner of American Family Insurance's Go Get Your Dreams Challenge."

The second- and third-place winners will receive $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.

The second place winner was Anne Goetz of Chicago, Ill., whose dream is to publish a book that encourages kids to learn to love fruits and vegetables, and make healthy choices with every meal.

The third place winner was Tim Boyd of Cecil, Wis., who suffers from Parkinson's disease, but doesn't let that stand in the way of his passion for photography. Tim will be using his dream fund for adaptive camera equipment.

Contest participants chose a category for their dreams (health, career, finances, home, family or passions), entered a dream title, description and up to three photos, and had the option of linking to video.
