Madison, Wis. (April 10, 2013) – American Family Insurance has partnered with Better Homes and Gardens magazine to bring consumers a chance at a $5,000 Dream Room Makeover, by simply pinning a favorite picture from American Family's Pinterest page to their Pinterest page.

"Whether you're just window shopping or planning for a room makeover, BHG and Pinterest can help generate ideas and share those dream room thought compelling images."

American Family made its first pin about a year ago.
"We saw large retailers using Pinterest to connect with people," says Michele. "Insurance and financial service organizations did not have a big presence. We wanted to get in this emerging social space quickly, to continue leading the industry in social media."
Each of American Family's pinboards focuses on a specific topic. For example, the Keep Your Family Safe board has pins on safety tips for kids in cars, protecting your nest egg and pool safety. Pins link back to amfam.com or our You Tube channel.
How do I enter?
Consumers can enter the sweepstakes by clicking on a banner ad that can be found on the Better Homes and Gardens website (www.bhg.com) that takes them to the Dream Room sweepstakes entry page. Entrants will then need to 'pin' their registration activity to their Pinterest page to be officially entered. Entrants can also receive a bonus entry for following American Family's Pinterest Page and pinning an image from the Dream Room board.
The sweepstakes runs now through May 8th. One winner will be randomly selected and announced in mid May.

Pinterest is a photo-sharing website allowing user to 'pin' images to online bulletin boards based on their interests and to follow others with similar interests. The site currently has 25 million users with 10 million unique visitors a day.
