American Family Insurance donates $43,000 to Seattle Children's Hospital

Donation recognizes Russell Wilson with $1,000 for every Seahawks point in Super Bowl win

(April 24, 2014) — American Family Insurance announced it has donated $43,000 to the Seattle Children’s Hospital in recognition of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his role as a brand ambassador for the company. Washington is one of American Family’s 19 operating states.

The $43,000 donation signifies $1,000 for every point the Seahawks scored in winning Super Bowl XLVIII this year.

"I am humbled that American Family would use our Super Bowl Championship as the reason to make this generous donation to a cause that is so dear to me,” said Russell Wilson. “I am proud that American Family shares my vision to minister to the needs of the children in this region. There is no group more deserving of this gift than the children of Seattle Children's Hospital."

American Family is based in Madison, Wis., where Wilson played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin. He has represented the company in a several commercials, including one that debuted during the Super Bowl. American Family is a primary sponsor of the Russell Wilson Passing Academy for youth.
