FAQs
- What is sewer backup?
-
A sewer backup occurs when excessive waste water or storm runoff cannot flow normally through a sanitary sewer system. When there's too much volume for the system to work correctly, the sewer backs up. You'll know you have a problem if the sewage that should be flushed away through the system unnoticed instead rises through the floor drain in your basement.
- What is sump pump overflow?
A sump system consists of a water collection pit, a motorized sump pump, a set of pipes leading outside and a check valve that ensures water in the pipes doesn't flow back in. Sump pump systems are highly mechanical, and lack of maintenance or a failure of any component could lead to a basement full of water.
