Home Insurance Discounts
Claims-Free Discount – Your premium will be reduced if you haven’t filed any chargeable claims for at least five years.
Customer Longevity Discount – Your premium may be reduced if you've insured your home with American Family for at least five years. Simply, the longer you've been with us, the greater the discount.
Roof Discount – You may receive a discount based on the type of roof you have (e.g., impact-resistant or tile). Discounts may not be applicable in all states.
New Home Discount – You may receive a discount based on the age of your home and the year you first occupied it. (In Minnesota, you may qualify for an Electrical System Discount instead.)
Home Security & Fire Protection Discount – If your home is equipped with a smoke/fire alarm system, burglar alarm and/or an automatic sprinkler system, you may receive a discount.
Age of Customer Discount – Discounts may apply to new or existing policies starting at age 50 for homeowners and renters, and age 60 for condo owners.
Home Purchase Discount – You may qualify for a discount if you purchased your home within the last three years, regardless of its age.
Welcome Home Discount – New home customers may qualify for a discount on coverage for primary and secondary homes that are five years old or less.
