That's the spirit behind our self-supporting catastrophe trailer and RVs -- claim offices on wheels that respond to communities stricken by storms, tornadoes, earthquakes or other catastrophic events.

Our catastrophe vehicles respond to locations stricken by storms and other catastrophic events to help American Family customers start the recovery process as quickly as possible.

Response time
The catastrophe vehicles are on-site and operational within 24 to 48 hours after being dispatched. Exact time depends on the location of the catastrophe.

Our semi-trailer and fleet of catastrophe RVs have portable satellite dishes supported by a 2.4-meter dish at American Family headquarters in Madison. The company has bandwidth of 512K on the GCS Immeon satellite Telstar 4. These vehicles are also equipped with multiple computer workstations along with telephones, fax machines and printers.

Trailer: A driver, a technical support person and claim staff.
RVs: A driver/technician and claim staff.

Power is provided to each vehicle by 30-kilowatt generators.
