MADISON, Wis. (Tuesday, September 24, 2013) - Madison Public Library Foundation and DreamBank will host a meet and greet with Congressman Luis Gutierrez before the free discussion of his memoir Still Dreaming: My Journey from the Barrio to Congress. Tickets are $50 and are available for purchase at Ticket price includes an autographed copy of Still Dreaming and proceeds benefit the Wisconsin Book Festival.

Luis Gutierrez, the first Latino to be elected to Congress from the Midwest, is in his 11th term in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2001 he was the first elected official to sponsor a version of the DREAM Act-legislation to allow undocumented youth brought to the United States as minors a pathway to citizenship.

Still Dreaming, to be released October 7th, 2013, is Gutierrez's frank, often humorous story of how a cabdriver and semi-successful community organizer became such an influential member of Congress. He is as endearing to the reader as he is sometimes maddening to his colleagues, inspiring everyone to stand up for their rights and for those of others.

DreamBank, American Family Insurance's community space on the Capitol Square, is pleased to host the event. "DreamBank is a place for dreamers to get the inspiration and encouragement to pursue their dreams," said Anne Jensen, Brand Strategist for DreamBank. "We are thrilled to host Luis Gutierrez to share the story of his journey to pursuing his dreams and his success."

Gutierrez will also be appearing at the Monona Terrace on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 7:00pm for a free discussion of his memoir, open to the public. The Wisconsin Book Festival is one of Gutierrez's first stops on his upcoming book tour.
