Downloadable Time Tracker: Find the Time

When you have a dream, making it a reality takes more than wanting it. It means planning, scheduling and dedicating the proper amount of time needed to make it happen. However, creating more space in your busy schedule can be a lot more complicated than it sounds. Lucky for you, we have just what you need to find time in your life for your dream pursuit and everything else in between.

The downloadable time tracker will help you track how you are currently filling your day over the course of two weeks. Why two weeks? Because we understand things come up unexpectedly — like a sudden deadline for work or an abnormally sleepless night. You'll be looking for general patterns in your daily routine and an average of how you typically manage your day.

This is how it works: You're prompted to create a key for your time tracker with a list of daily activities and you’ll fill-in how you do these tasks throughout the day. For example, you might list "Watching TV" as one of your daily tasks. You'll use the color or symbol for that activity to mark your start and stop time for watching television throughout the day. So, Monday morning, you might start your day by watching the morning news from 6 – 6:30 a.m., and later, you tune-in to your evening programs from 8 – 10:30 p.m. before bedtime. Make sure to track those hours in your sheet!

Once you've tracked your hours over the 14 days, it’s time to analyze and look for opportunities to make room for dreaming! Add up and average the amount of time you spend on each activity per day and decide where you want to cut down or add more time towards that task in your schedule.

If you discovered you average three hours each day watching your favorite shows, rest assured you don’t have to cut out watching TV completely to make time for your dreams! If you're someone who likes to watch television before bed, maybe power down 30 minutes earlier and squeeze in time dedicated towards your dream instead. Finding ways to make these adjustments part of your daily routine will help you stay on track and make it a habit.

So, are you ready to take control of your schedule? You're just one click away from better managing your calendar and giving yourself time back in the day to get to do what you hope to achieve. Remember, your dreams matter, and they deserve your time!
