COVID-19 FAQs

  1. The health and safety of all associated with the PGA TOUR, the American Family Insurance Championship and the greater Madison community continues to be our number 1 priority. The PGA TOUR, in collaboration with the American Family Insurance Championship, has established an extensive set of COVID-19 health and safety measures developed from CDC, state and local guidelines to promote a safe environment and quality experience at the tournament.

Tournament health and safety guidelines are listed below, along with a link to the PGA TOUR’s Know Before You Go guidelines.

Limited Attendance: Attendance will be limited to a maximum capacity of 7,500 fans a day. Each hospitality venues will also have a specific occupancy limit depending on the size to ensure appropriate physical distancing.

Prior to arrival: All spectators are encouraged to take their own temperature and review the CDC’s symptom questionnaire before departing their home. If a spectator’s temperature is 100.4 degrees or higher, please seek medical advice and do not attend the tournament.

Parking Shuttles: For parking off-site from tournament grounds, shuttles will operate at a reduced capacity and guests are expected to physically distance themselves from other parties on the bus. Routine sanitation practices will take place after each route.

Mobile Ticketing: All tournament tickets will be distributed electronically to your mobile device. Tickets should be purchased thru the tournament website in advance prior to entering the grounds. Tickets will be sent to your email address on record immediately after purchase. Upon arrival to University Ridge Golf Course, fans will present their mobile ticket on their phone or can print out their ticket at home and bring it with them.

Masks/Face Coverings: Per current PGA TOUR policy, fully vaccinated individuals will have the choice of not wearing covering indoors or outdoors on tournament grounds. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose vaccine or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine.

    • Unvaccinated individuals should wear facial coverings in all indoor locations, including pro shop and clubhouse, and are strongly encouraged to wear them outdoors when they cannot be socially distant from others.

Face coverings will be provided complimentary to anyone who needs one.

Rope Line Policy: Per current PGA TOUR policy, consumption of food and beverage is prohibited within 10 feet of the rope line. Masks must be worn at all times within 10 feet of the rope line, even when in possession of food and beverage.

Sanitization: The American Family Insurance Championship will have enhanced sanitization protocols established to ensure all areas are routinely cleaned and sanitized. Stationary hand sanitizer units will be placed throughout the golf course at the entrances, restrooms, and concession locations. Guests are permitted to bring their own sanitizer from home.

Physical Distancing: It is important everyone on tournament grounds practices physical distancing where possible in order to help maintain a safe environment. Once on tournament grounds, spectators will be asked to maintain a six-foot separation from other individuals, unless the party has arrived together.

Autographs/Player Interaction: Per PGA TOUR policy, for the safety of the players and gallery members alike, autographs will be prohibited at the 2021 tournament.

Payment methods: All major credit cards will be accepted where payment is required. Non-cash transactions are recommended.

Seating: For the health and well-being of all spectators on tournament grounds, no public bleacher seating structures will be constructed. Spectators are welcomed, and encouraged, to bring their own folding chair to the tournament.

Risk & Liability: Despite measures to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19, elimination of risk of exposure and infection to COVID-19 is not possible. Therefore, by attending this event, all attendees assume the risk and liability for any exposure to COVID-19 and any related loss, liability, or injury incurred at this event.
