Elissa was born and raised in Topeka. She has 2 daughters, Kaile & Morgan. Kaile is a registered nurse & Morgan has her Bachelor of Psychology. Elissa had the joy of getting her first grandson in 2022! When Elissa is not working, she spends time out in the community giving back and helping others.

Elissa graduated from Shawnee Heights HS & then from Washburn University with a Bachelor of Finance. Her grandfather, Earl Shipman, was an agent with Farmers Mutual which later became American Family Insurance. Elissa's father, Larry Shipman, was an American Family Agent for 51 years. Elissa had worked under Larry for 35 years, and then became the 3rd generation Shipman agency owner in 2017!

Elissa most enjoys spending time with her daughters and grandchild. In her free time you can find her listening to music while crafting or decorating!
