Tom was raised in Coquille, attended Coquille High School and went on to attain a B.A. degree in Finance and Real Estate and play football at Oregon State University. Tom has two boys – Ryan, age 28, who recently completed medical school at Cornell and is now doing an Emergency Medicine residency in New York. Daniel, age 26, recently completed his Bachelor and Master’s degrees at Texas Christian University and was a member of the TCU football team’s 2014 Peach Bowl and 2015 Alamo Bowl championship teams. Tom moved back to Coos County in 2018 to be closer to his parents, Al and Nancy Walsh of Coquille, his sister, Karen Parker of North Bend, and his brother Steve, in Portland.

Tom has over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry working with both individuals and small, medium and large sized employers. Tom’s insurance business success is attributed to negotiating the best deal for his customers, being very dependable, diligent about follow-up, and meeting his client’s needs.

Tom’s interests include spending time with his sons, salmon fishing on the Coquille, Coos and Umpqua rivers, mountain biking, his faith, working out, hiking and being with family and friends.
