Community involvement

Some of our Best Work is Done Outside the Office

Our commitment to restoring dreams extends far beyond our customers. We understand that each employee and agent brings their own passion for causes and organizations in their community. At American Family Insurance you’ll not only build an amazing career, you’ll also be encouraged to support the causes that matter most to you.

See how we’re helping give back:

  1. Join us. Help them.

Feed your passion. There are countless opportunities for you to take advantage of your paid volunteer hours. In the past, team members have worked with local students through adopt-a-school partnerships, volunteered with United Way, worked with HIRE to train job seekers for openings in the community and created teams to lead fundraising efforts. There really is something for everyone! So don’t just think about doing good deeds … do them. We’ll back you every step of the way.

  2. Making a Difference in our Communities

In hundreds of communities across 19 states our agents find great opportunities to help their communities by supporting agents’ volunteer efforts and even matching funds for worthy causes. Here are just a few examples of what our agency team members are up to:

    Excelsior, MN

Agents in Excelsior launched a local Lions Club that generates funds for community events through charitable organizations. In addition to sponsoring and volunteering as American Family Insurance representatives, they’ve also formed a scholarship in the name of the agency.

    Grafton, WI

Besides donating to many school fundraising auctions within the community, the Mica Meunier Lawrence Agency in Grafton sponsors a variety of local organizations such as the Grafton Little League and the Grafton High School Booster Club.

    Perrysburg, OH

American Family Insurance agent, Nathan Young set a goal to raise $30,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which supports blood cancer research and honors children who are local blood cancer survivors. Not only did Nathan reach his goal, he far surpassed it, raising $41,550!

  3. Welcome to DreamBank

Within a refurbished 19th century bank a stone’s throw from downtown Madison’s Capitol building, we’ve created an interactive, open-to-the-community gathering place where we provide educational sessions, seminars and workshops to inspire dreamers of all ages.

It's efforts like DreamBank that set American Family Insurance apart. We don’t just talk about community involvement, we live it. And not only that, we encourage each and every American Family team member to do the same.

If you happen to be in Madison, come see us in action. DreamBank is open weekdays and available for educational groups, trade associations and community advocates who seek a supportive space to gather, learn, instruct and share
