Training for Success

It’s important to us that you get started off on the right foot when you become part of our Agency team.

From day one, we’ll be there for you whenever you need us, starting with a comprehensive training program to provide the foundation you need to succeed.

You’ll learn about our product lines, the ins and outs of operating an agency, and attend our Business Owners Conference at our headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin — where you’ll meet other team members and learn how they can help you get your new business up and running.

Additionally, we offer numerous online courses or field training to simulate real customer interactions, in order to make sure you have multiple resources for learning and growing throughout your career.

1. Complete an

Recruiter

Once your application is received, a recruiter will review it. If your qualifications fit the role, we'll reach out to further discuss the opportunity.

3. Complete the
Screening Process

If selected to move forward, you'll complete a credit, background and motor vehicle check, as well as an initial skills assessment.

4. Talk With a
Sales Leader

Upon a successful screening process, you'll learn more about the position while we learn more about you during an interview with a Sales District Leader.

5. Learn About
our Products

If selected to move forward, we'll help you explore our products with some basic training materials and start learning about generating sales leads.

6. Take Licensing
Exam

Get licensed! You’ll be required to obtain licenses in property, casualty, life and health insurance.

7. Launch Your
Agency

Once you complete these steps and are selected for the role, you’ll be an American Family Insurance Agency Business Owner!
