10 Family Beach Day Essentials

There’s nothing like heading to the beach for a day of sun, waves and laughs with your family. It’s so much fun to get away, relax and make memories! So, be sure you’ll get the most out of your family beach day by packing these smart essentials.

Sunscreen. It’s important to protect yourself and your little ones from the sun’s rays. So pack sunscreen that’s at least SPF 30 and reapply often to get the coverage you need.

A suit and a spare. It’s inevitable, someone will end up spilling on or ripping their swimsuit, so be sure to have a spare handy for every family member. This way you can enjoy the waves all day long.

Extra towels. Of course you’ll all need a towel to dry off with, but it’s smart to also bring a spare for everyone — they get soaked faster than you’d think!

A stocked cooler. Whether you’re relaxing in the sand or running along the shoreline, a beach day can take a lot out of you and your kiddos. So you’ll want to be stocked with some cold water, juice boxes and plenty of munchies to keep your energy up and your tummies full!

Cover ups and clothes. Remember, most beach-side restaurants won’t serve your family if you’re all just sporting your swimsuits. So pack some trendy cover ups and maybe a backup outfit — just in case.

Beach toys. Can you say sandcastles? Make your time in the sand even more memorable by bringing some pails and shovels and have a friendly water-side competition!

Goggles and floaties. If your kids are swim ready, you’ll want to pack the swim-time essentials. The floaties will give you peace of mind and the goggles will help them see all the wonders that lie below the surface.

Baggies. Stock your beach bag with some smaller bags you can use for collecting shells or protecting your electronics. And consider bringing along a garbage bag to toss your wet clothes in at the end of the day.

First-aid kit. You wouldn’t want a little scrape or bump to sidetrack your whole day. So be prepared with a first-aid kit with all the basics.

A waterproof camera. You’ll definitely want to document this fun day, but you won’t want to be worrying that your expensive camera will get wet or stolen. The perfect solution — a waterproof, disposable camera!

Now that you’ve got your packing list, load up the car and get on your way! Days like these are what it’s all about.
